With the Nationals down 2 games to 1 and facing elimination, Ross Detwiler, the bullpen, and THE GREAT WERTH came up with a huge victory!

We were at the game and it was jawsome.  While there was a downside (the Shark didn't play), there were so many upsides.   Here are some pictures, but go to the Nats website to watch the real highlights.

Sharkspiration

So the Nationals are down 2 games to 1.  Feeling glum?  Well stop.  We've all dealt with sadness before. Sometimes more than once. Or even twice.

The Nationals have to win the next two games to proceed to the NLCS.  And they are going to do it.

If you need some inspiration to ignite your #sharkitude, just look at what a super Shark fan, Chad Nichols, on our facebook wall:

NLDS: Game 3

To those of you who don't know, NLDS stands for Nationals: Le Dopest Sh**.

To those of you who knew what NLDS stands for, please don't tell anyone, because let's be honest, even though "Nationals: Le Dopest Sh**" might not make much sense (with French, etc), the Nationals are dope as sh** so why break those innocent innocent hearts.

After splitting the first two games of the NLDS, the Nationals and the Cardinals head to DC.  While after the first game, we were all hoping for a sweep, splitting the games in St. Louis is the next best thing.  The Nationals, lead by the Shark, are ready to DEVOUR THE CARDINALS with home field advantage.  The Nats were 50-31 at home this season, which is nice!  The Cardinals were 38-43 away from St. Louis which is nice for the Nats too!  Let's hope the Nats can keep that trend going and win in 4.  To do that, they really ought to utilize the Shark.

Here's why: the Shark batted .308 at Nationals Park this year with 14 runs, 10 RBIs, 8 SB, and a home run.  He made more than his share of tremendous/shark-like catches and he bit/mamed 15 opposing players at home (as opposed to 9 on the road).  In short, he acted like a Shark and will continue to do so.  Therefore, Davey Johnson, get him in the game and cut him loose. CHOMP!!!

Tyler and I were going to be at the game tomorrow... until the game time was set at 1pm.  We have an all-staff meeting at Imagination Stage.  That said, we will be there on Thursday and we hope to see some Shark magic.  If you are going to be there, keep an eye out for the Shark and keep an eye out for Sharkadina.   LET'S GO NATIONALS!!!!

Finally, speaking of Shark magic, I leave you with some real magic.  Have you ever googled "Shark Nationals" images (of course you have), just to see what stuff is out there (that is not directly posted by us)?  In our recent search, this is what we found:

The photograph, which was taken by Terry Sosnowich shows off some real magic.  I don't remember this at the time (which was the same game where Mark Grace talked about us on FSN Arizona) but apparently, the world went to greyscale for a moment, ALTHOUGH (and this is the magic part) we miraculously stayed in color.  I KNOW!  It seems impossible, but this must have been the case.  I double checked weather.com to see if there were any cosmic storms or nuclear spills that day, but came up fruitless.  I will keep looking.  Either way, nice work Terry, for capturing this moment.  It's an awesome image.

NL EAST CHOMPIONS

Well the Nats lost tonight in Game 2 of the NLDS (Shark pinch walked again), but let's not forget that the Nats have homefield advantage because they are the NL EAST CHOMPIONS!  This post is a little late, but yes, Sharkadina was there to watch them celebrate clinching the NL East and we finally got around to uploading the videos of that fateful night.

First, while the players mostly celebrated in front of the home dugout, the crowd out in the left field corner was not satisfied and started calling for their favorite player to swim out and celebrate with us:

And The Shark obliged! You can see him here initially passing us but then recognizing us and back peddling to give us a fin-five (the Shark hoods probably gave us away):

Anyway, it was a pretty Jawesome night and we can't wait to welcome the Nats back to DC this week and watch them #bitethebirds or #chompthecards in person. To celebrate, we designed this LIMITED EDITION "NL EAST CHOMPIONS" shirt that you can wear for the rest of the playoffs and into next season:

Meet Me in Shark Louis

The Washington Nationals just won Game One of the NLDS! If you missed the game, I recommend catching the highlights over at Federal Baseball. While the Shark didn't play a big role (he drew a pinch hit walk in the 6th inning), the city of St. Louis did make him feel welcome by redecorating their landmark, The SharkWay to the West:

When we started Sharkadina, we never imagined that we'd be watching Roger Bernadina in a playoff game while Twitter blew up with Shark references. It is truly jawesome and we can't wait to be at Nats Park on Wednesday watching a standing room only crowd CHOMP while Bernadina helps to bring down the Cardinals and move the Nats to the NLCS!

Sharkadina 3.0

The Nationals and the Shark are 100% ready for the postseason to start.  As you may have noticed, we haven't been posting recently, mostly because of business, but also some laziness.  We are here to tell you that we are ready for the postseason as well.

As you may have noticed, we have updated our site a bit.  Notice the new header, the new sidebar, the very fancy new Shark Shirt Shop and Shark Hat Shop as well as a Sharkive (it is a play on words, as one might combine archive and shark) to access our old posts.  We want to let all the Shark fans of the world know that we are ready for the Postseason, and we have our tickets for games 3, 4*, and 5* of the NLDS. 

The age of Sharkadina 3.0 is upon on.  Prepare yourselves.

And the best part: all it took was 4 pitchers of beer while watching the Atlanta Braves COMPLETELY BLOW IT LAST NIGHT.

September Shark Fan of the Month

Congratulations Evan Benoit, you are September's Shark Fan of the Month!

Evan e-mailed us at sharkadina@gmail.com with a dope-as-sh**k story of coming face to face with one of the Shark's cousins.  Read the story below, with our input [bracketed].

"Hey Sharkadina guys,

Using a Curly-W-shaped fishhook [brilliant idea, Evan], I caught one of Sharkadina's cousins off the coast of Emerald Isle, NC.  He put up a great fight [as one would expect from a relative of the all powerful Shark], but I had to throw him back down to the minor league, so he could grow to his full size of 6'2''.  Next time, I'm going to need a bigger boat."

Evan learned of the Shark nickname when he sat in front of us a couple of months ago, and apparently spreads "the gospel of the Shark wherever [he] goes".  If that doesn't earn a Shark Fan of the Month award, I don't know what does.
