SHARK EATS PHILLY: Part 2 (and 3)

After Roger "The Shark" Bernadina's JAWESOME home run in yesterday's victory over the Phillies, he came through in the second game of the double header with his defensive prowess.  He didn't start the second game, but came in for the bottom of the 9th to patrol right field with Shark skills.  He proved again why he is called the Shark (and not Speed Racer). He closed on Jimmy Rollins' hit like a Shark sensing blood in the water and then devoured it like a Hammerhead ripping into the sweet flesh of an exotic tropical fish. Yes, the catch was that good.  And yes, it's been awhile since we've had a colorful Shark metaphor.

After that catch, Drew Storen struck out the last two batters and the Nats won 3-0. They won both games of the double header and it was even sweeter because it was against the evil Phillies.  The Phillies players and fans probably support Shark Finning.

The Nats played another great tonight game and The Shark had a beautiful double, his 11th of the season.  The Nats won 7-5 and have won 3 in a row and 9 out of their last 11.  They are in 3rd place in the NL East with a record of 75-79.

They have their final homestand this weekend against the Braves, with Terry and I attending our final game on Friday (if we don't get rained out for the 3rd time with the same tickets...). Strasburg is pitching and we're hoping to say goodbye and good luck to Shark for the off season.

More to come.
